Cool & Deep

YOUR LOOK IS CLEAR AND CONTRASTING

As a Clear your colouring is highly contrasting, extreme even, because of its brightness. With your stunning colour palette the best colour combinations for your outfits are similarly contrasting in a high degree from light to dark colours.

With your secondary palette as Cool, clothes and makeup that have a cool undertone will enhance your colouring.

Adding your tertiary palette of Deep, means your overall look is elevated with colours towards the darker end of the scale. These make wonderful additions to your wardrobe.

Personal style will also always influence how you wear your clothes and the colour combinations you prefer.

Colour Guidelines | Click on image/title for more info

Work it ...
  • For you, with your high contrast, the more unusual the combination, the more striking. Some depth contrast can be created by pairing a lightest and darkest of one colour.
    • Combine the lightest and darkest of one colour, Evergreen and Peppermint.
  • Instead of depth contrast, aim for high colour contrast.
    • A neutral with a bright accent colour, like a neutral Charcoal with Apple Green, or Light Grey with Emerald Turquoise.
  • For depth or colour contrast combine just accent colours.
    • Mint with a Light Aqua (depth contrast) or Bright Periwinkle with Blush Pink (colour contrast).
  • Don’t be afraid to combine opposite colours on the colour wheel.
    • Periwinkle and Lemon Yellow
  • In general, always aim for at least one bright colour in your outfit.
  • The brighter and lighter shades are best near your face
One colour is trickier, if you do, make it one of your most vivid.
  • Mid to later life you may change to a COOL as your hair turns to grey or white.
  • Great patterns for a Clear & Cool are bold, highly contrasted and brightly coloured, in keeping with the bright, saturated colours on the palette. Look for geometric patterns or round and rectangular shapes mixed together. Abstract prints are also great.

Don't do it ...
  • Colours with a warm undertone
  • Avoid muted tones
  • Two lights or two darks together
  • A single colour on its own
  • A monochromatic look
  • Avoid neutrals-only combinations
  • Patterns | Natural floral patterns are best avoided, if necessary, opt for highly stylised flowers.
Also avoid small prints as well as anything faded or blended (watercolour prints).
Jewellery

Jewellery is best like your jewel-like appearance, bright and shiny. As a Clear & Cool, both silver and gold look good on you, but silver looks the best. You can mix and match more easily than other palettes.

  • Silver | Platinum | White Gold
  • Diamonds | 9kt or 14kt gold
  • Cool hued gemstones in colours from your palette | Sapphires | Rubies | Emerald
Hair

Hair tones are from dark brown, to deep dark brown and black. Use the plummy (blue-toned) shades for lowlights and avoid copper or red tones. If you eventually go grey or white, your dominant palette may change to Cool.

Glasses

All the metals mentioned can work for glasses frames, as can any of the colours in the palette. Colourful, bright or dark frames are especially wonderful on you, as is a touch of sparkle. Coloured plastic frames are more likely to be bright enough, while coloured metals often aren’t. Make sure the lenses are non-reflective so your striking eyes remain visible.

Makeup

As a Clear & Cool your makeup is at its best when it’s highly contrasted, colourful and bright. The vibrancy of your colouring and clarity of your look needs to be replicated in your makeup. Choose contrasting shades and clear bright tones. A natural look on you is a glowy and intense look rather than a no makeup look. It’s important to use at least one bright colour in your makeup as this is what will bring out your natural level of contrast, this is best achieved through lipstick. What is required is a bold lip paired with defined eye makeup.

  • Neutral eyeshadow colours are the Greys, Steel and Storm; and Taupes. You can easily wear dark eyeshadow, but don’t go too dark and avoid muddied soft colours.
  • For highlight and accent eyeshadow colours, opt for the brighter and more colourful colours on your palette. Darker Pinks, Purples, Blues and Greens look particularly nice. Delph, Purple, Midnight, Peppermint.
  • Make sure to avoid eyeshadows with very matt finishes, as those might dull your appearance, use a cream shimmer, a frosted finish or add a highlight over the top.
  • Eye liner, Granite or brighter Teal, Marine Blue, or Amethyst.
  • Black-Brown or Black mascara is perfect for you, or a striking Navy.
  • Instead of golden bronzer (which will not enhance your colouring as you do not want its warm tones) opt for a lighter one with a pinkish undertone, and apply delicately. Alternatively swipe a little cool toned highlighter to your cheeks instead, it will add some wonderful shimmer.
  • Your blush will need a coolness, try Shiraz or Marsala.
  • Lips are, of course, bright! Avoid Dark colours. Try Sheer Fuchsia, Strawberry and Purple Rain, these are not shy colours. They will look very natural on you and not at all attention-grabbing because they mimic the natural intensity of your appearance.
  • Nude lips are also not great on you because they lack the intensity that you require.

Went to see Nicki last week for a re rate appointment as it had been a long time since I had my colours done. Turns out I am completely different to what I originally thought! It was a bit of a shock realising I could wear all the colours I've been avoiding for years and finding out that my safety zones of blues arnt actually ideal for my colouring! Since my appointment I haven't stopped looking for new clothes that match my swatches I've already grabbed a few new pieces that I wouldn't have normally chosen but I actually really love once on! 😊 I also have tones of screenshots of clothes online that I'm looking to purchase and new outfit ideas it's very exciting 😀 even my partner now finds things in my colours and can see the difference in colours on me. Thankyou Nicki you've given me my confidence back! 🌟🥰

My sisters and I enjoyed a wonderful Colour Up and Party Package and we cannot recommend Nicki more highly. From the moment we stepped through the door we were made to feel so welcome and Nicki’s expertise and passion for colour bowled us over. Nicki obviously loves what she does and her knowledge and enthusiasm was energising and infectious 🤗We were so interested to learn which colours suit us best and Nicki encouraged us all to experiment with lip colour too which was a game changer for all of us. Thank you so much Nicki from all of us - shopping will never be the same again - we will be forever grateful!

I recently had a Full Works colour analysis session with Nikki, and it was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I walked in, she was incredibly friendly and made me feel at ease right away. The experience was not only enjoyable but also extremely informative. Nikki provided me with a swatch booklet that has been a game-changer for refreshing my wardrobe. Now, shopping for clothes for my holiday is a breeze! She gave me detailed insights into the colours that suit me best, even down to the perfect jewellery, makeup looks and hair tones. I left the session feeling confident and excited about my new look. If you're considering a colour analysis, I highly recommend Nikki. She is knowledgeable, professional, and truly delightful to work with!
