Cool & Soft
YOUR LOOK IS DEEP AND ELEGANT

Your colours are wonderfully deep and rich, enhancing your dark features.
You look best balancing intense depth with gentle, sophisticated tones. Cooler shades are predominant for your undertone, but as a Neutral-Cool, some shades from the Deep & Warm palette can help achieve a softened, medium contrast look.
Personal style will also always influence how you wear your clothes and the colour combinations you prefer.

Colour Guidelines | Click on image/title for more info
Work it ...
- You look best in deeper colours.
- Pair a Neutral with a similar depth Accent colour.
- Charcoal with Aubergine
- Soft White/ Cool Ivory & Soft Fuchsia in a blended pattern
- You can achieve a little more contrast through combining neighbouring hues with similar depths.
- True Blue & Fern
- True Red & Bittersweet
- Chocolate with Dark Teal
- Jewel Play:
- Evergreen with Purple
- Burgundy & Sapphire
- One way to achieve a medium contrast is through Monochromatic colour combinations. Pairing slightly different shades of the same colour is effective.
- Purple, Violet & Plum
- Pine & Forest Green
- Due to your soft element, you can wear just Neutrals, as long as you maintain the depth. Black-Brown or Pewter with Navy is striking.
- Cream with Charcoal adds a lighter glamour.
- Chocolate & Dark Teal
- Though Black is in your palette, your element of softness means it’s key to choose muted or softened tones, rather than harsh, bright ones. Soft, textured fabrics like velvet, suede, wool or matt leather can make Black more wearable.
- Swap Black for alternatives like Dark Navy, Charcoal or Black-Brown
- Great patterns for you are subdued prints with dark, muted colours
- Patterns that are not overly delicate, such as larger, bold, or more intense, rich patterns, are recommended over small, soft, or muted ones.
- Ideal patterns combine the depth of the Winter palette with a less intense saturation. With your medium contrast, opt for patterns that reflect this contrast.
- Organic & Natural Motifs: Patterns with rounded edges inspired by nature, such as foliage, leafy prints, vines, and wood textures.
- Medium-Scale Geometric & Paisley: Rather than tiny, delicate prints, choose medium-to-large scale designs. Paisley, classic foulard, and non-stiff, rounded geometric shapes.
- “Inky” or “Smoky” Florals: Floral patterns that are muted or “dusted, rather than brightly coloured, provide depth without being too loud.
- Rich Plaids: Tartan or plaid patterns in dark red, forest green, and chocolate brown
Don't do it ...
- A bright, highly saturated accent colour as a single block colour item
- Colours with a warm undertone
- Neon colours
- Black and white
- Extreme contrast – pairing colours that sit opposite each other on the colour wheel.
- Patterns | avoid high contrast, ordered arrangements, small and dense elements, and stiff geometric patterns.

Jewellery
Accessories can be bold; antiqued or textured enhances the depth of the palette.
Polished can work in a more subtle way, as long as it’s not overly bright.
Metals that are brushed or hammered are especially flattering.
-
Dark Silver | Platinum | Pewter | Gunmetal
-
Dark, cool hued gem stones from your palette

Hair
Your hair will always be a medium brown through to deep dark brown and black. As a Deep & Cool, your hair needs a cool undertone to it. Use plummy shades to enhance the cool tones. Avoid coppery-red. As you age your hair may become grey or white and this can change your palette to a Cool.

Glasses
Always choose a frame that is a colour, or metal from your palette. Deeper, muted colours, or shades of the same colour are flattering. Metals that are matt or brushed will also look better.

Makeup
As a Deep, Cool & Soft, your colours for makeup are worn in a similar way to your colours for clothes. Depth over brightness.. focus on deep, saturated colours rather than overly bright or playful shades for the most harmonious look.
-
Your neutral-cool undertones work well with eyeshadows like dusty mauves, pewter greys, grey green, cool taupes, espresso browns and smoky darker blues.
-
Deep teal or deep plum can make your brown eyes pop beautifully
-
Use matt or slight shimmer finishes to enhance depth without overwhelming your natural sotness. Glitter and very sparkly shades can easily look too overpowering.
-
Define with dark cool brown liner, or try aubergine. Make sure to blend your eyeshadows in really well. Harsh lines are not best for your blended look.
-
Try a charcoal-navy, or black-brown mascara, it’s slightly softer than black for your colouring.
-
A light dusting of bronzer works well, but look for pinkier rather than orangey tones.
-
Your blush will be a mid-dusty pink, try Candy.
-
Your best lipsticks are soft mauve, medium to deep pinks, muted raspberry and cool berry nudes.
-
High gloss can easily be too much on you, opt for a soft sheen or matt finish for everyday wear.
-
For a more dramatic look you can choose a slightly deeper, slightly brighter berry shade to liven up your lips. Even a classic red can work if it’s a deep, cool, softer scarlet. Add a smoky eye for glamour.
-
Avoid the earthier warmer tones of makeup shades.
