Warm & Soft

YOUR LOOK IS DEEP AND STRONG

Your colours are wonderfully deep, and lighter colours in the palette enable you to create medium-high contrast combinations. By repeating this contrast naturally present in your appearance you look radiant.

With your secondary palette as Warm, clothes and makeup that have a warm undertone will enhance your colouring.

Adding a tertiary palette of Soft, means your overall look is elevated with colours that have a gentle haze to them, and in combinations that are more blended. These make wonderful additions to your wardrobe.

Personal style will also always influence how you wear your clothes and the colour combinations you prefer.

Colour Guidelines | Click on image/title for more info

Work it ...
  • Pairing neutrals with a similar depth to an accent colour gives you a medium contrast,
    •  Camel with Moss
    • Chocolate with Burgundy
  • You can add in a little more contrast but not too much,
      • Dark Navy & Mustard
  • Neighbouring hues with a similar depth look great.
    • Rust and Salmon Pink
    • Lime & Cornflower
  • An all-dark look works for you especially with striking accessories in an accent colour.
  • If you wear one colour, ensure its dark or vibrant.
  • For balance, wear the strong dark colours near your face.
  • If your lighter colours are near your face, balance the look with deeper/stronger coloured makeup and accessories.
  • Paler shades can wash you out, they will look better worn with dark or bright colours.
  • Mid to later life you may change to a SOFT or COOL as your hair turns lighter.
  • Great patterns for you are natural autumn elements, such as oval shapes, leaves, and wood structures. Elements should be big, blended and loosely arranged.

Don't do it ...
  • Two light colours together
  • Light and frosty colours
  • Colours with a cool undertone
  • Muted colours
  • A monochromatic or neutrals-only look
  • Patterns | avoid stiff geometric, small and dense patterns. Floral patterns are best slightly stylised, as in paisley and oriental patterns.

Jewellery

Jewellery can be matt or shiny, a great way of adding contrasting colour. Hammered metals with more depth also look good.

  • Gold looks particularly stunning | Brass | Copper | Bronze | Pewter | Yellow Diamonds | Wooden or coloured Beads
  • Warm hued gemstones in colours from your palette | Garnet | Jasper | Ruby | Emerald | Peridot
Hair

Your hair will always be a brown through to deep dark brown. As a Deep & Warm ensure you keep a warm undertone to your hair. Red and copper tones with enhance your hairs natural warmth. As you age your hair may become lighter and this can change your palette to a Soft.

Glasses

Always choose a frame that is a colour, or metal from your palette. You can mix two or more deep shades or contrast light and dark tones. You can go quite dark with the tortoiseshell. (Avoid pastels)

Makeup

Deep & Warm makeup is depth combined with glowing warmth. As your Deep look is naturally intense, and high in contrast; so to achieve a harmonious makeup look, you need to repeat these natural characteristics in your makeup. A typical ‘natural’ or nude makeup look won’t work on you. The look for you works when the focus is on just one area of your face. Balance your strong, rich colouring with both lighter and dark shades together.

  • Use similar tones to those in your palette with a warm undertone, cool ones one will drain you.
  • Neutral eyeshadows such as Beige and Browns Gold, with accent colours similar to your palette such as a warm Damson or greens like Bayleaf or Olive. When choosing eyeshadow, opt for a more matt finish. You can also wear metallic eyeshadows – particularly in the deeper colours. Avoid glitter finishes.
  • For a daytime look, keep your lips in the background. Focus on highlighting the eyes with some mascara and perhaps an earthy eyeshadow instead.
  • A Brown, Moss or Aubergine eyeliner really bring out the colours in your eyes.
  • Try Black-Brown mascara, which keeps a little warmth with the depth of Black. Navy looks striking too.
  • Bronzer is great on you, it brings out a healthy, golden glow in your appearance. Avoid overly shimmery bronzer though.
  • Your blush will need depth to it. Try Salmon, Almond or Muscat.
  • To frame your face, use bronzer.
  • Lipstick wise opt for matt finishes or ones with some shimmer like Sheer Nutmeg. Avoid lip gloss and too much shine.
  • For more dramatic looks, you can either intensify the smokey eye look with deep, metallic brown or bronze eye shadows and keep your lips paired down, or put your lips centre stage keeping your eye makeup clean and simple with neutral eyeshadow and some mascara.
  • Your lips can be dipped into one of your dark lipstick options to make them the focus of your look, try Tomato or Mahogany.
