Colour Guidelines | Click on image/title for more info

Work it ...
  • Your overall look needs to be medium in depth and contrast.
  • Monochromatic combinations, which combine different shades of one colour.
    • Greens for example – Sage with Evergreen, is flattering.
  • You can take on the contrast however of pairing neighbouring colours with similar depth.
    • A medium orange like Amber with a medium pink like Coral.
  • Another option is to pair a neutral with a similar depth accent colour.
  • Colour in your outfit lifts it, keep the brighter tones nearer your face.
  • Black is not in your palette, if essential, wear sparingly in a sheer, light fabric.
  • Your black alternative is Chocolate | Bronze | Light Navy.
  • Cream is a great version of white for you.
  • Since your natural colouring has medium contrast, opt for patterns that reflect this natural contrast level rather than ones which are too bold.
  • Great patterns include:
    • Small and loosely arranged elements that are natural and gentle; oval shapes, leaves, wood structures, flowers, birds and butterflies; anything hand-drawn.
    • Floral patterns work well, especially small flowers.

Don't do it ...
  • Colours with a cool undertone
  • Neutral colours only
  • Extreme contrast
  • Bright, pastel or icy colours
  • Pure White and Black
  • Patterns | avoid elements in dense arrangements and stiff, ordered, square geometric patterns

Jewellery

Jewellery is best if it is matt or hammered, brushed or satin. Not shiny, avoid bling! Wood and other natural materials are perfect.

  • Gold – light in depth | Rose Gold – peachy | Copper | Brass | Bronze | Brown Pearls
  • Warm hued gemstones in colours from your palette | Jasper | Topaz | Amber | Coral | Turquoise
Hair

Golden tones reign with strawberry blonde to caramel, auburn, warm brown to deep copper. Always keep warm tones of gold and copper if you highlight, don’t be tempted to go darker.

Glasses

Always choose a frame that is a colour, (especially a mid-depth colour) or a metal from your palette. A soft tortoiseshell is a classic for both eye and sunglasses.

Makeup

Your colouring as a Warm & Soft means a natural look on you is a rich, glowing look. It radiates from you. It is a glow, not a brightness, and is distinctly autumnal. Your colouring contrast is medium, the softness requires muted colours. To achieve a harmonious makeup look, you need to repeat these natural characteristics in your makeup. If your makeup is matt and understated with a natural lip colour and minimum eye makeup, your face will be framed beautifully.

  • Use similar tones to those in your palette with a warm undertone, cool ones one will drain you.
  • Neutral eyeshadow colours are Gold Whisper, Melon or Peach, and the browns like Cocoa.
  • For highlight and accent eyeshadow colours, opt for Purple and greens like Bayleaf or Olive in your palette.
  • When choosing eyeshadow, opt for an overall matt or shimmery finish. Metallic can look lovely but avoid glitter finishes.
  • A Teal, Moss, Coffee or Aubergine eyeliner can really bring out the colours in your eyes.
  • Warm-Brown mascara is kinder to you than a Black. A Black-Brown is also lovely, or a striking Navy.
  • Bronzer was made for you! It brings out a healthy, golden glow in your appearance. Avoid an overly shimmery bronzer.
  • Your blush can be a coral-pink, to orange or brown. Try Almond or Muscat.
  • Lipsticks are best when they are either matt; Chiffon, or have a slight golden shimmer; Sheer Copper or Sheer Rum.
  • For a dramatic look there is plenty of depth in the colour palette to create warm smoky eyes. Deep reds such as Red Velvet or Tomato are perfect for a dramatic lip.
