Neutral with Contrasting Accent

All Dark
Work it ...
- Depth contrast with colour contrast is especially flattering on you. A neutral with an accent colour.
- Pair a light neutral in one colour with a different dark accent colour, such as Stone with Burgundy.
- You can also combine a darker neutral with a brighter accent colour, such as Black-Brown and Emerald Green.
- For depth or colour contrast combine just accent colours.
- An all-dark look works for you especially with striking accessories in an accent colour.
- If you wear one colour, ensure its dark or vibrant.
- For balance, wear the strong dark colours near your face.
- If your lighter colours are near your face, balance the look with deeper/stronger coloured accessories.
- Though your contrast is high, it’s not extreme, so take care pairing colours that are in stark contrast- opposite sides on the colour wheel can be overwhelming.
- Paler shades can wash you out, they will look better worn with dark or bright colours.
- Mid to later life you may change to a COOL as your hair turns to grey or white.
- Great patterns for Deep & Cool are bold, highly contrasted, and contain unusual and unexpected elements. Look for patterns with geometric shapes or round and rectangular shapes mixed together. Abstract prints are great too; as are stylised versions of natural elements.

- Pastel, icy, light colours
- Muted colours
- Colours with a warm undertone
- Two light colours together
- A monochromatic or neutrals-only look doesn’t give you enough contrast.
- Patterns | avoid natural and floral patterns. If necessary, opt for stylised flowers. Also avoid small elements in dense arrangements and anything faded or blended (such as watercolour prints).
